E-ATX - Extended ATX, is the largest motherboard size and measures 12 in. x 13 in. (width x length).
ATX - This motherboard measures 9.6 in. x 12 in. (width x length).
micro-ATX This motherboard measures 9.6 in. x 9.6 in. (width x length).
mini-ITX - This motherboard measures 5.9 in. x 5.9 in. (width x length).
All motherboards will have a letter in front of three digits, the letter designates a certain feature set, while the numbers correspond with its compatibility with a CPU. These designations make it easier to differentiate the basic differences when building a computer.
A/H110 - These motherboards are the "ultra budget" models. Typically low in features and overall build quality.
B/Q - These motherboards are for "business" and do not support overclocking.
X/Z - These motherboards support overclocking for both the CPU and RAM, and are typically the first choice for gamers and content creators.
H*70 - These motherboards are the same as the Z*** motherbaords, except they do not support overclocking on the CPU, but do support RAM overclocking.
C - These are workstation grade motherboards that are built to last longer than the Z series.
